Spatial Analysis Branch: Initiatives

Image Application Support

Spatial Analysis Branch provides specialised image application and remote sensing support for key government initiatives and programs. We have specialized expertise in the integration of information from multiple image and non-image data sources to address key land and resource planning and management issues. As part of its mandate, Spatial Analysis Branch is also responsible for the Baseline Thematic Mapping (BTM) program, which is a satellite derived provincial generalised land use / land cover database. The BTM program is currently being update to tracking land use / land cover changes over time.

Spatial Analysis Branch works with other government and non-government partners in the development of the new integrated remote sensing based products and applications to support the sustainable management of provincial lands and waters.
