This note is to provide details on some improvements that have recently been made to the GeoBC Base Map Online Store.  Many of you will have noticed that In July 2009 several changes were made to the site and to the tools used for image searching and ordering. 

These enhancements were entirely based on user-feedback collected over the past year and this new interface was designed with the goal that the Base Map Online Store will now be even easier to use as well as offering a more powerful search function.  Based upon the user input we received, new priorities were addressed with the new site design.

• Products will be easier to find and to order;
• Searching using “normal” street addresses will be available;
• Instead of being limited to only ordering photographic prints, air photos should be available in digital format as well – the original film will be scanned at high resolution (~2000 DPI) on a mapping-quality scanner;
• Orthophotos may be ordered in a MrSID format with the benefit that they will be delivered as a much smaller file;
• BMOS supports both Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3;
• Map navigation tools have been moved directly over the map image for clarity.
