Overview
Base Mapping is a program to provide a common digital framework for the various land information retrieval systems by using a common standards and specifications for data capture.
Programs and initiatives of Base Mapping include the Terrain Resource Information Management (TRIM) Program, Geographical Names, Digital Road Atlas, the Corporate Watershed Base, TRIM Data Exchange and the Digital Image Service Program (DIS) - formerly the Digital Image Management Program (DIM).

Standards and Specifications
TRIM 1:20,000 scale mapping specifications provide the basis for the official base mapping in British Columbia. These specifications include those required by mapping contractors and partners involved in the data capture and production of base mapping. Read more >>
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Base Mapping (TRIM) and Resource Inventories Mapping provide direction to government agencies and partners with Government, in the documentation and procedures to be followed during the planning and implementation of mapping projects, inclusive of any aspect that relates to base mapping. The SOP will be applicable to mapping projects which have any component of Government funding. Read more >>
