Spatial Data Management and Supporting Documentation

Spatial data deriving from strategic land and resource planning processes supports many business functions of ILMB, Ministry of Agriculture and Lands (MAL), Ministry of Forests, other government agencies, and various external stakeholders. In 2007, the Strategic Land Policy and Legislation Branch (SLPLB) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands agreed to assume the custodial responsibility for this data. Five new or updated SLRP data layers are now available in the British Columbia Geographic Warehouse.

The five SLRP layers available for viewing and download in the GeoBC Geographic Information Warehouse are:

• SLRP boundaries (Eg. LRMPs, SRMPs, RLUPs, new plans)
• Landscape Units
• Legal and non-legal Old Growth Management Areas (OGMA)
