Land Use Zones
There are 3 land use zones within the CC and NC plan areas: protected areas which include newly established conservancies as well as existing protected areas like parks; biodiversity, mining and tourism areas; and EBM operating areas. There are also recently established “no hunting” areas for grizzly and black bears.

- Khutz-Kitlope-Kimsquit Upper Dean-Tweedsmuir No Hunting Area
- Ahnuhati No Hunting Area
- New Black bear hunting closures within the kermode bear range (>122,000 ha) effective July 1, 2009 (maps unavailable at this time)
- Gribbell Island, north of Princess Royal Island
- Kitasoo Spirit Bear Conservancy on Princess Royal Island
- The Whalen Creek estuary and 1km surrounding the estuary (located within the Moksgm’oli/Chapple-Cornwall Conservancy on Princess Royal Island)
