INTRODUCTION

This order legally establishes old growth objectives for landscape units across the province of British Columbia. The order will apply to the approximately two-thirds of the province where objectives for old growth have not already been formally established.

The order is primarily concerned with the management of forest resources on Crown land, and will apply to Forest Development Plans prepared under the Forest Practices Code of British Columbia Act and to Forest Stewardship Plans prepared under the Forest and Range Practices Act. Private land outside of a Tree Farm Licence will not be affected.
